Are you looking for support to return to work after long-term unemployment?
If so then our brand new employability programme could be what you’re looking for to help you take that step forward. HeadsUp is funded by the Big Lottery Fund and European Social Fund and is completely free to take part in. It is designed to help people with common mental health problems such as depression or anxiety return to work after a long absence. It understands that the thought of returning to work can be daunting so it will ensure that you have all the practical and emotional support you need to make the change.
You will be matched with a peer support worker who will help you with all the practical steps of looking for and securing work such as writing a good CV, filling in application forms or practicing interview techniques. These peer support workers have been where you are so also understand the emotional rollercoaster you may be feeling at the thought of finding a job. You can talk to them about your concerns and seek guidance and advice from someone who has been in your shoes.
There is also the chance to take part in a series of three interactive workshops which will explore well-being and resilience – tools that will enable you to feel more confident and positive about opportunities that come your way. Not only that, but you can also take advantage of some work experience or job-related training which can also help build confidence and skills that you can use in the workplace. The support you receive will continue for as long as you need it – even once you have found and started your new job.
